Description:
In my classroom, students are allowed to request a "cool down break" when they are overwhelmed and need separation from our group. I give them this card and they go to "Alaska" (a tent in my room) to use calming techniques. This reminds the student that he/she is supposed to be calming down and alerts other teachers if the student chooses to take a walk in the hallway.
